    Which language do most people speak on the planet as a first language?

    		Mandarin is the most commonly spoken language in the world, with English coming second. But as Mandarin is the official language of China, while 90% of Chinese speak Mandarin most of these also speak one of over 400 local dialects. English is the most popular as a second language. Spanish comes in as the third most common language in the world. I will guess that either English or Spanish is the most popular first or mother tongue.
