    		I've just read on this website that it was Ricky Valance in 1960 with Tell Laura I love her. But our Shirl was surely first. Not like the BBC to get things wrong, is it?

    		Major, my information about ms bassey comes from the guinness book of british hit singles. And I think that 1959 came before 1960.

    Well, someone at the BBC knows. Shame they didn't tell the person who did the Ricky Valance page!
