It seems that there were many fine institutions that bore or bear the name YALE but New Haven are hunting them down and forcing them to change their names but this one found in North Wales has/had a stronger claim than most as Elihu Yale the founder of said university is actually buried in Wrexham ,North Wales and there is a Wrexham Tower in the University

Yale University was founded in 1701 as the Collegiate School in Branford, Connecticut.
The school moved to New Haven in 1716, and in
1718 was re-named Yale College to honour the
generous benefactor Elihu Yale.

You will have a hard time showing how the New Haven institution stole the name. Yale in the US was founded in 1701. The link you've sent gives the age of the North Wales school as 30 years. Their explanations for the name seem to be contradictory as well.
