How do those binoculars that focus automatically on what you are looking at work? (Actually YOU have to focus your eyes.)

After some very interesting reading, I came across this. The fuzzy logic reference seems to imply that the len's auto-focusing mechanism is based on reading objects whose balanced density determines the center of what you're aiming at. Give it a read yourself.
