What does e=mc2 mean?

energy = mass (multiplied by) the velocity of light (squared.)
it means that mass can be made into energy.. and energy can be made into mass.
it also explains time, and space.

Don't confuse the formula with the entire Theory of Relativity, here. E=mc2 doesn't explain time and space, and neither did Einstein. HE explained some aspects of time and space and their relations to each other, and his formula relates entirely to energy and matter, and not at all to time and space, except where anything involved in physics relates to time and space.
