Well done!! The company which Spangler formed was called The Electric Suction Sweeper Company.
In 1907, the company was bought by William Henry Hoover (1849-1932).

The Shell book of Firsts has a slightly different answer.
Spangler is credited with the creation of a PROTOTYPE of the modern upright version with a bag attached to the handle.
The first vacuum cleaner was invented in 1901 by Hubert Cecil Booth.
A prototype was made and he formed his Vacuum Cleaner Co Ltd on 25 Feb 1902.
It was actually used to clean the deep pile blue carpets in front of the twin thrones that had become soiled in the Abbey during the preparation for the Coronation of King Edward VII in 1902.

Booth invented the vacuum cleaner. A few years later, Spangler invented the upright vacuum cleaner. Hoover cleaned up and got all the glory.
