In 'Going My Way' what activity did Father Fitzgibbons learn?

    Question #42468. Asked by Cntryangel77. (Dec 18 03 11:25 AM)

I don't have the answer you're looking for. But, a little fun trivia. In the end of the film, Fr. Chuck O'Malley (Bing Crosby), is supposed to present Fr. Fitzgibbon (Barry Fitzgerald), his mother, played by an actress. A surprise for the audience as well as Barry, it was his real mother whom he hadn't seen in many years. Crosby took it upon himself to bring her over from Ireland and surprise her famous son on the set with camera's rolling! (teary eyed me? get's me every time).

Yay! I know this one (or at least I think I do). Golf!

Gatsby, certainly your "Yay" will have to come from CountryAngel. But I'll quote a line from Fr. Fitzgibbons, " A golf course is nothing but a poolroom moved outdoors."

What is the name of the activity where by e-mail or phone many people, often strangers, are asked to suddenly gather at a certain spot to perform a brief, unusual act then disperse as quickly as they had arrived to do the same or similar activity at another place sometime in the future?

Which sometimes nefarious activity most commonly uses two tools, but when the activity is depicted in film and TV fiction only one tool is used? Which tool is usually omitted?

Can anyone identify a poem about a young man caring for his father, as his father is old and weakened by illness? There is something about his father with his arms out, swinging the son as a child, possibly comparing the father to a tree, and the words "it's alright Dad" or maybe "it's ok Dad" are repeated several times. I've been trying to find it for years now with no success.
