While agreeing with Maggie that Madrid gets the ribbon, it's amazing how many places claim to have the largest palaces! Among them - Stockholm (largest palace in world still in use); Versailles (obviously huge at over 7 acres but looks a bit puny compared to the aerial pic of Palacio Real); even Blenheim stakes a claim, and Amsterdam claims the largest palace rooms in Europe, and so on....

I think you all are forgetting about the Parliamentary Palace (formerly known as the presidential palace) in Bucharest, Romania. It is the largest palace in the world and the second largest building by area in the world.
