Several sites quote Damascus as the right answer. One thing I know for certain is that it's not Cardiff.

The walls of Jericho have been destroyed many
times, so it's Damascas in the lead as being the
world's oldest CONTINUOUSLY inhabited city - it
was ancient even in the Old Testament times.
