Right, Astrix. The word is derived from the Cherokee man Sequoia, who created the Cherokee alphabet, consisting of 85 characters. He is said to be the only person ever to create a written language, without being literate in any language himself. He saw Whites reading and writing and proceeded to create an alphabet for his people. Pretty amazing!
