Team Notes: The Lions have been in existence since 1930 and have had many memorable moments in their history. They have had 15 playoff appearances and have turned 4 of those appearances into league championships. Some of football's all-time greats that hailed from this club are Doak Walker, Barry Sanders and Dutch Clark. The Lions are already looking more promising with the hiring of new head coach Steve Mariucci. They have nothing to lose and are expected to get killed yet again this season. This can be their greatest asset. As other teams take them for granted, the Lions are capable of pulling out some surprising victories in the 2003-2004 campaign.
