January 6 has seen the last day of Test Cricket for several Australian players in the past twenty years, including Steve Waugh yesterday. In that period, which other Australians retired?

Question #43074. Asked by shady shaker. (Jan 06 04 1:39 PM)

Three players retired on that date at the end of the 1983-84 series against Pakistan. They were a powerful triumverate - arguably the world's best batsman, best wicket-keeper, and best fast bowler.
The other player I have in mind retired in 1993. He was an off-spinning all-rounder, who was doing commercials for a hair replacement company last I heard.
