What is the difference between mass and weight?

Mass: A pysical quantity expressing the amount of matter in a body (physics).
Weight: The vertical force experienced by a mass as a result of gravity (physics).
According to the Collins Australian Pocket Dictionary. Thats for the physics side of the question.

Mass is the amount of stuff in the object. Weight is a force caused by the mass being attracted to the earth. If you go into space, where there is no gravity, the weight will disappear, but the object will still have mass. An object with a large amount of mass will move slowly when you push it, even in space.

Weight is the product of the mass of an object, and the acceleration caused by gravity...
