    An aspect of the General Theory says that massive objects (which have large gravitational forces) actually deform and warp space. Einstein predicted that massive objects that warp space actually bend light. His theory was proved in 1919 after a solar eclipse. At night, the locatation of a star is easy to identify; however, during the day - when the sun is right next to that particular star - the star's position will appear to have changed position. Einstein had to wait for a solar eclipse because otherwise, the blinding light of the sun will make it impossible to see the star. Einstein, with his reputation on the line during this observation, won huge fame as a result of the discovery...
