Were they ever married?
Ruth Laurel filed for divorce only days after shooting of Way Out West had begun; Myrtle Hardy filed for divorce near the end of the shoot. In addition, Mae Laurel had returned from Australia, claiming that Stan was her common-law husband and that he owed her alimony. Babe's first wife Madelyn also returned, claiming that Babe owed her years of back alimony. In the end, Ruth was granted a divorce from Stan and Babe was granted a divorce from Myrtle; Mae and Madelyn settled out of court. Stan would later remarry Ruth, only to end in divorce once again.

If any of you folks out there are looking for someone to dig up the dirt on a straying partner, may I recommend that you employ Senior Moments to do the digging? He's sure to ferret out the evidence you need. No love nest in city, town or bush is safe from his eagle eye. No curtain can be drawn far enough across a bedroom window to allow the goings-on inside to escape him.
