The family cat, one Dandelo, has the misfortune to wander by and is soon involved in one of the many special effects sequences involving the transmitter. The bowl of milk comes through, but, oops, no kitty. All Andre hears is a chilling, disembodied yowling - from where we do not know.

Fans of both David Hedison and Richard Basehart will notice two "inside jokes" involving the actors. It is a common practice on some TV shows to use a reference to the actor, such as a previous role, in the context of the episode. For Mr. Basehart, his birth state of Ohio is used for the location where Betty Harmon lives. The hotel where Nelson stays is called Dandelo, which is the name of the cat in Mr. Hedison's film 'The Fly.'
