To remove candle wax from wood, heat the wax gently with a hair-dryer and slide a piece of dull plastic (such as a credit card) under it to "pop" it up. Clean any residue with warm water and dishwashing liquid. Rinse well, then polish.

Most furniture finishes are lacquer, which is fragile. One should never use any hard object to scrape it, nor should you ever have to use anything except a moistened cloth to clean it.

Ice cube, then a plastic scraper. It will come off in one piece!
