    What colour is the blood of the Horseshoe Crab?

    		BLUE.
    This is because the oxygen carrying pigment in horseshoe crab blood is a protein called hemocyanin. Similar to the hemoglobin we have in our blood which is red because of the iron molecule in the center of the protein.
    Hemocyanin contains a copper molecule which results in a blue color.

    		Unlike humans, horseshoe crabs do not have hemoglobin in their blood, but instead use hemocyanin to carry oxygen. Because of the copper present in hemocyanin, their blood is blue.
