What was unusual about the original Celsius temperature scale?

originallly it was 0 for the boiling point of water and 100 for the freezing point. After his death in 1744 the scale was reversed to its present form.

Right you are quickfire...it was Carolus Linnaeus (1707-1778) who reversed the scale to what we use today.
