2001 In a change of tradition, the Tooheys New Melbourne Cup Owner’s trophy will now be made from 18 carat gold instead of 9 carat. The Jockey and Trainer trophies will be enlarged to two-thirds the size of owner’s trophy, double the size of the miniature Cups normally presented.
