Dave Kunst is the first person verified to have completed circling the entire land mass of the Earth (with exception of the oceans) on foot. The Earthwalker carried a torch in the 1996 Olympic Torch Relay and he is featured in the 1997 Guinness Record Breakers Book. With help from his brothers John and Pete, and Jenni Samuel, an Australian School Teacher, Dave walked 14,450 miles round the planet earth. See the World Walk Map.

How many steps does the average person make in a day, and how many times does a person walk the circumference of the earth in a lifetime?

If somebody went on a space-walk upon working on the space station, a very loose example, and then became detached from the station, i.e. floating freely in space, would it be possible for the person to move themselves closer to the Earth or actually re-enter the Earth's atmosphere by some sort of swimming motion, for want of a better expression?

A person has two parents, four grandparents, eight great-grandparents and so on backwards through the generations. If we go back 40 generations, about 1200 years, this gives each person on Earth over a million million ancestors, many times more than the population of the entire Earth! Where does the logic break down? Are we all very inbred?
