In Quantum physics, what is Kirchoff's Law?

    Question #44608. Asked by peasypod.

    quickfire

    Kirchoff had two laws
Kirchoff's first Law states that the current flowing into a junction in a circuit (or node) must equal the current flowing out of the junction.

Kirchoff's 2nd Law states that for any closed loop path around a circuit the sum of the voltage gains and voltage drops equals zero.

Quick by name quick by nature huh?

His law of emission also led him to the concept of a "black body" and "black body radiation", which in turn led Max Planck to introduce the idea of quanta into physics.

    [Feb 24 04 7:22 AM] peasypod writes:

    Kirchoff, Gustav Robert(1824-1887)

At a given temperature, the rate of emission of electromagnetic energy by an object is equal to the rate at which the object absorbs electromagnetic energy of the same wavelength(frequency). This law was first stated by Gustav Kirchoff in 1859 and proved by him in 1861. This formed the begining of a black body and black boby radiation.

Applying quantum mechanics and other advanced theories of math and physics, has any scientist as yet been able to "transport" matter from one location to another without movement through physical space?

As I take my pals Baloo and gmack by the hand and show them around my windowless laboratory with its locked doors, I show them a box that may or may not contain a live cat. Ok, you all know what I'm talking about now. Who then, according to the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum physics, was the only person able to look inside this box, and what was the theory behind it?
