    What connects a rod and three ulna?

    In units of measurement, 3 ulnae equal 1 rod. Used to be a statute in the 13th Century that said, "...3 grains of barley, dry and round, make an inch, 12 inches make a foot, 3 feet make an ulna, 5 1/2 ulnae make a rod..." The ulna later became the yard.
