    		One unexpected side effect was that the increase in the amount of silver in circulation caused some economic problems. (The silver wasn't all circulated where the Spanish wanted it to be, as various privateers took a share.) The effect on the money market in Europe was that there was more money chasing less goods, so prices rose. Oh, and some new diseases were transferred - in both directions...
