Why is it considered bad luck to say Macbeth in a theater?

Question #45645. Asked by IndieQueen. (Mar 24 04 8:49 AM)

Tradition has it that something bad always happens - swords cut, legs break, etc. on stage if people quote "the Scottish play" and they aren't performing it. I knew a fight director from the RSC who was particularly superstitious about this.
