In two days it will be April Fools Day. What is the source of this unique holiday?

Question #45875. Asked by AlbertCamus. (Mar 30 04 11:17 AM)

Many, many years ago people celebrated New Year's on April 1st. Then under Charles IX the Gregorian calender was introduced putting New Year's Day to January 1st. Some people refused to accept the new calendar and still celebrated on April 1st. These people were called fools, hence April Fools Day.
