Last night, and not for the first time, I saw a few footballers playing in Sweden v England with strips of white tape round some of their fingers.
Surely they can trust the staff to look after their rings, or were they for a different reason?

Simple answer is that the players don't want to remove the rings (for whatever reason) but under FA rules the rings are classed as dangerous objects (as are ear-rings or studs) the tape is used to cover the object and make it safe.

Thanks Fosse, strange isn't it that they can't play without their jewellery, even if no one can see it. What next, a teddy bear?
