"Their colours match up with the elements that the Horsemen were believed to represent, the symbols on their heads also match up with Christian symbolism."
Unfortunately, Tinky Winky is undeniably purple, not blue, not predominantly blue, but purple. Sort of shoots the entire argument right in the foot. Gotta go, it's time for Teletubbies, time for Teletubbies, time for Teletubbies.

The white colour of the first horse could mean victory, because generals of that time often rode white horses after they had won a battle or war. The crown that its rider wore was a kind of prize awarded for service in a war. The bow that he carried could be a symbol of an enemy at that time, the Parthians, who were famous for their archery. The red colour of the second horse could mean bloody war, and the sword held by the rider symbolizes war and violence. The black colour of the third horse could be a symbol of death and famine. Its rider was holding a scale, which means scarcity of food, higher prices, and famine. The pale greenish colour of the 4th horse means fear, sickness, decay, and death. The imagery of the four horses is adapted from a passage in Zechariah. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Four_Horsemen_of_the_Apocalypse

He probably has the TV badly tuned. You would have beaten me, Griff if you had not taken time to prune it down.

I can't find the Q from the last time so had to have another look in Revelations 6, although as SM says it is also briefly mentioned in Zechariah 6.
1. White horse. The rider held a bow and was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
2. Red Horse. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a sword.
3. Black Horse. The rider was holding a pair of scales. A quart of wheat for a day's wages - or a fair wage for a fair day's work.
4. Pale Horse. Its rider was named Death, and Hades was close behind him. They were given power to a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
