From one source I read that President Reagan reversed Watt's decision two days later. Somewhere else I read that Nancy Reagan invited the group back for the following year's festivities. Can anyone tell me which version is correct? Apr 08 04, 6:11 AM

Nancy's invitation is a fact. http://www.mikelovefanclub.com/bio.html The band doesn't seem to have appeared there that Fourth, but did perform at Reagan's 1985 inauguration. Watt's gesture seems even odder when one finds that The Beach Boys had performed at the White House the previous month (June 12, 1983). Good story was that afterwards, Reagan gave James Watt a "shoot yourself in the foot" award and gladly welcomed the Beach Boys to the White House. If the Beach Boys are ever the "wrong element" I'm not sure I want to be right. May 23 06, 9:05 AM
