Manufactured CDs are write-protected so you can't erase or write-over the data on them.

If you mean the oven then, yes, you could make the CD into an ash tray or flower pot. If you mean the CD writer then, no, you couldn't change the game because it will have been written on a WORM (Write Once Read Many) or CD-R format disc. To be able to change the programme it would have to be on the re-recordable disc format CD-RW. You would have to have taken the programme from the original disc onto your computer, change it and then re-save it to the CD.

Just to add - you might not even be able to make a copy of your CD many now have copy protection programming written onto the disc.

Why would anyone want to do that? The value of a game CD is far more than a blank one, so give the game away and spend a few pounds/dollars/euros on a pack of blank CDs. Far more economical than losing a game when the blanks cost a fraction of a filled CD.
