This Ambassador was Zarafa the giraffe. His mission was to distract King Charles X, while Egyptian forces invaded Greece. Zarafa's story is told in Michael Allin's book: "Zarafa: A Giraffe's True Story, From Deep in Africa to the Heart of Paris."
