When he scored 375 in 1994, he batted for 766 minutes and received 538 balls.
When he scored 400 in 2004, he batted for 773 minutes and faced 582 balls.
So, in terms of runs per minute, he was faster in 2004; but in terms of runs per ball received (or per 100 balls or however you like to measure it), he was a bit faster in 1994.
