    What doesn't exist but is protected by a 1912 Act of Pariament and is said to be worth several thousand pounds annually? When was the earliest reported claim to have seen it?

    		First sighting reported in 565 CE by Adamnan telling of St Columba's trip on the loch. Nessie is not specifically mentioned in the Protection of Animals (Scotland) Act 1912, but would be covered by it if proven to exist. There appear to be no recent sightings of the Loch Maree monster, either.
