They've never really stopped. It's a very valuable drug - so long as the rule about never in pregnancy applies. In the case of Hansen's Disease, pregnancy is not very likely, and in AIDS should be avoided anyway. There are some other applications that escape me for the moment, but they are being VERY careful now. Apr 16 04, 4:01 PM

It got itself a terrible repuation because of the appalling side effects on babies when pregnant women took the drug to alleviate morning sickness, but apparently, according to news reports, it is a very useful drug, and is becoming widely accepted. Apr 16 04, 4:03 PM
