If we take "in England" to mean upon English soil I think it will be Sedgemoor (1685), but given a more general meaning and accepting the Luftwaffe as an army, it could extend to the battle of Britain (1940).

Land battles only, please. Sedgemoor was the answer given, but I was wondering about Derby in the '45...

I hadn't thought of that, Baloo. Sedgemoor is the usual answer (the equivalent "on British soil" being Culloden I think).
I've had a bit of a google around and as far as I can tell there wasn't an actual battle as such at Derby, only an imminent threat of one. It was because the invaders didn't think they could win it when it came, and by then the route home to Scotland would be blocked for the survivors, that the decision to return seems to have been made.
