Is it true that all Icelandic surnames end with -sson or -sen?

It is for men, as they use the old way of naming after the father, like the Jews did before Europe imposed regular surnames on us.
But women are dottir (daughter), so it only applies to the men.

Actually no. Most of the males end in -son and the females in -dottir as the main system is patronymic (taking the father's name as an additional name. However, there are some real surnames (which don't change from generation to generation) permitted by Icelandic law to be used by certain families. Can't remember what and why. Anyone moving to Iceland has to follow the main system. If I went there to take nationality I would have to become Leonardsson, for example.
