Why do silkworm moths no longer occur in the wild?

Question #48272. Asked by TheAlphaWolf. (Jun 10 04 12:51 PM)

    McGruff

The silkworm moth lived in nature 4,500 years ago when the Chinese silk industry was in its infancy, but as years passed, the insect became so domesticated that it can no longer fend for itself in the wild. It can no longer fly, move more than a few centimeters to find its food, or defend itself against predators.
