    Is it true that we close our eyes when we sneeze so that they don't pop out of our head?

    		Apparently it is impossible to keep your eyes open when you sneeze, and as the average sneeze travels at over 100mph, your eyeballs would land somewhere around 15 feet away from you. And then roll under the furniture.

    		The optic nerves, eye muscles and other tissues hold the eyeballs firmly in place and they're not likely to "pop-out" by accident. The eyelid shutting sneeze reflex is a mystery but one that has been looked into.
