Yes Nathanial Hale said this, but he was no traitor to the US.

I think you may be confusing Nathan Hale with Benedict Arnold. Nathan Hale's statue is outside the CIA Building in Langley, VA.

He is the one who said the said the quote as he was being hanged by the Brits for being and American spy, but it was Benedict Arnold who was a traitor and eventually went to England and became a British General.
