In 2003 it was 25.8 million of which,
2-in-10 were raising three or more of their own children under 18.
1-in-10 were raising their own infants under age 1.
1-in-8 were under 30.
4 percent were 55 or over.
2 percent lived in the home of a relative or a nonrelative.
6-in-10 had an annual family income of $50,000 or more.
