I have just seen Armand Leroi present a programme on UK TV. He said he was Dutch but has no foreign accent, but a totally unlocatable British one. Does anyone know its true origin?

Question #48498. Asked by satguru. (Jun 17 04 7:49 PM)

    Senior Moments

It will be a bit of a mixture as Armand Marie Leroi was born on 16 July 1964 in Wellington, New Zealand. A Dutch citizen, his youth was spent in New Zealand, South Africa and Canada.

Thanks SM- I'm normally very good on accents if English is the first language, and this was the hardest to pin down I've heard- now I can see why!

Gillian Anderson (Scully in X files) was born in Chicago and clearly speaks in the programme with an American accent. Then I heard her interviewed on the BBC (on the radio) and she had a perfect English accent. Are there two Gillian Andersons, did I confuse her with another guest or is there a logical explanation?
