    Who invented DVD's and DVD players?

    		Digital Video Discs were first released in 1994 by Philips Media using jointly developed Sony/Philips technology. When companies develop existing technology like this one person is rarely given credit. Just try to find the inventor of the TV remote control.

    The first films released include Top Gun, The Crying Game and Indecent Proposal.

    		According to Wikipedia, DVDs were created by a joint effort of MANY technology companies.
