    		ROGER BANNISTER, was a Englishman.

    		Bannister, once a member and president of the Oxford University Athletics club, was running for the Amateur Athletic Association against his old university during their annual match on 6th May 1954 at the Iffley Road track in Oxford and watched by about 3,000 spectators.
