yay ,mibby,he fell from his chariot halfway through his race,did not finish but because he had bribed the judges was awarded the laurel wreath.Upon his death the verdict was rescinded and his name expunged from the record books.

Given that the ancient Olympics were Greek, I doubt that any Roman emperor took part, and much less, won! If Nero's name was expunged from the "record books" (even if such things existed!) then how come we know about it today? I found your reference in the AIA website, but to me the facts seem speculative. A much more learned scenario is found at http://www.hickoksports.com/history/olancien.shtml
