The Milwaukee Brewers joined the American League in 1969, as the Seattle Pilots; and adopted their current name in 1970. They moved to the National League in 1998. The present Baltimore Orioles joined the American League in 1901, as the Milwaukee Brewers, and became the St Louis Brown in 1902 (they adopted current name in 1954).
There was a team with the name Milwaukee Brewers, which played in the Union Association for one season, in 1884. There was another team, also with the name Milwaukee Brewers, which played in the American Association. It also lasted one season (1891).
