What was a "dog's leash" used for in the ancient Olympic games?

You're not talking about 'infibulation' as described on this site, are you?

Infibulation was common among contestants - tying a string round the foreskin to stop the penis getting in the way. This was known by the slang term kunodesme, "putting the dog on the lead".
