Come on everyone! A famous Welsh writer with a US Preident as a fan. There can't be many.
From there it shouldn't be too hard to find the book.

Certainly narrows it down. First make a list of Presidents that could read, and then find the one hwo read novels....

Here's a question I accidentally left dangling in August.
It was co-written by two writers. The one whose fan became US President appears on the Sgt Pepper album cover.
I'll post the answer tomorrow night if nobody gets it.

It was "Death of the King's Canary" by Dylan Thomas and John Davenport.
Jimmy Carter was a huge fan of Thomas' and travelled to Swansea to open a Dylan Thomas Museum. The book, with thinly veiled parodies of various poets was not published until 1976, when Carter became US President.
