Mel Blanch, who'd been in a car accident
For a full season after Mel Blanc's near fatal car accident in 1962, the show was taped in his bedroom where he lay in a cast from his neck to his toes. Daws Butler filled in for the voice of Barney for at least two episodes. This was easy for Butler because in the 1-minute and 45-second full colour pilot that sold the series, called The Flagstones, (the original name of the series), Butler did the voices of both Fred and Barney, while June Foray played Betty.)

Yay Gtho. And as well as Daws "Yogi" Butler, a guy called Hal Smith also did a few episodes.
Joseph Barbera recalls that there were about 16 people in Mel's bedroom during recordings.
Mel "What's Up Doc" Blanc had a famous aversion to carrots. I wonder if his accident occurred at night.
