In which sport does each player use over 33 feet of string and something made preferably using a goose's left wing, and why the left wing?

I'm guessing badminton, with the string being used in the raquet and feathers from the goose used in the shuttlecock. I'm not at all sure about the left wing feathers, unless it has to do with the shape of the quill, which is naturally bent a certain way on the left wing, and the opposite way on the right wing.

A good point there, Rob. Similarly, left goose-wing feathers are preferred for quills because the feather crosses the back of the hand rather than poking the user in the eye.
