If you were to release a balloon into the jet stream, how long would it take for the balloon to travel around the world?

    Question #50796. Asked by Svenbbg.

    Brainyblonde

That would be very difficult to predict since it is always changing.

The location and orientation of jet streams change from one day to the next. Weather patterns (hot/cold, wet/dry) are influenced by the position, strength and orientation of the jet stream (or jet streams).
